Main reason for traffic in Bengaluru

My opinion and observation about main reason for traffic in bengaluru. Bengaluru has emerged as the Information Technology Capital of India, along with the Metro City. The original residents of Bengaluru say that due to the highway passing through the city, there was a sudden increase in traffic. At the same time, due to the attraction of new IT companies and startup culture, there was a large migration of people, which also increased traffic and population.

According to my opinion and observation, I think that due to IT companies, highway passing through the city, and startups, traffic problems are arising in Bengaluru city. It is said that one should never trust the traffic of Bengaluru and the rains of Bengaluru. Even though the traffic police in Bengaluru are doing a good job, the traffic problem is getting worse due to the mentality of people leaving in a hurry. People say that the primary and secondary school timetable in Bengaluru should be in the morning. Because when the school day ends in the afternoon, the children will go home early and the traffic is less in the afternoon.

Those who cannot drive a perfect car drive at very low speeds. Cab drivers and those with yellow number plates drive rashly by honking their horns. 80% of people do not follow traffic rules. At the same time, delivery boys drive at high speeds. People in Bengaluru do not have the mentality of using public transport. Many of those who have joined as new software engineers and who have a package of lakhs of rupees cannot drive a four-wheeler properly. Those people buy cars for showoff.

Nice Road was built to move fast from the electronic city to the city, but truckers and other heavy vehicles drive slowly through the fast lane, so four-wheelers cannot move fast. Therefore, traffic continues at a slow speed on the highway. Nice Road is now becoming a bad road. Almost all two-wheelers and four-wheelers drive rashly and do not follow traffic rules.

If a solution is not found to the traffic problem in Bengaluru city, people are of the opinion that in the future, a lockdown may be imposed due to traffic. Accidents are happening every day due to terrible traffic, and fights are happening. In Bengaluru, it is said that people who do not have a bike or a car are the happiest. It is dangerous for someone to buy a new car because of traffic, as Bengaluru is infamous for rash driving.

Main reasons for traffic in Bengaluru

1. IT company and startup culture –

Only two cities in Karnataka provide good job opportunities – 1. Bangalore and 2. Mysore. Due to this, business has become centralised. Today, renowned international software companies have corporate offices in Bangalore. Due to this, many skilled employees come to work here from all over the country. Both husband and wife, who are employed in software companies, have cars.

Therefore, where 1 car is required, there are 2-3 cars in the house, which is causing this traffic problem. Every software company provides free pickup and drop facility to their employees, due to which the number of these cars has increased.

    2. highways passing through the city –

The national highway coming from Andhra Pradesh passes through the city, and that road connects Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Since the outer ring road passes through the city centre, traffic problem is arising in Bengaluru Central city. Airport Road, which goes from Devanahalli, directly connects Tamil Nadu and Kerala. So now Bangalore city needs another outer ring road.

Since trucks, tempos, and other heavy vehicles are passing through the city, traffic problems are coming to the city. Trucks, tempos, and other heavy vehicles should be banned from passing through the city. At the same time, the road should be repaired. The stalled work of the metro should be done immediately.

      3. Hurry mentality –

Two-wheelers do not follow the line. Also, rickshaw drivers and truck drivers pass through the fast lane. In Bangalore, accidents mainly happen due to not following the rules. Two-wheelers drive the fastest, do not follow the rules, and do dangerous overtaking. While some car drivers drive slowly through the fast lane.

Due to traffic problems, almost all two-wheelers break traffic rules. On the highway, on the city road, two-wheelers should go on the left side of the road. The most useless rickshaw pullers drive, even if there is no space between two cars, they try to put them in their rickshaws.

        4. Infrastructure planning is needed –

Town planning was good in Old Bengaluru. But there is a problem of town planning in the newly developed suburbs. Shopkeepers have encroached on the footpaths where there are. Good town planning is needed in the newly developed areas of Marathalli, Whitefield, HSR Layout, and Bellandur. The Metro network has been created in areas where there was no need for metro.

Citizens are of the opinion that there was no need for a metro in areas like Yeshwantpur, Chandan Soap Factory, Magadi Road, Madavara, Challaghatta, Mysore Road, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, etc. Marathalli, Mahadevapura, Bellandur Road, and Sarjapur Road were the first areas where the metro was needed. Because important IT parks are in these areas. But luckily, now the metro work is being done in these areas. It has started.

Traffic problems will not arise only if road works and metro works are completed in places where there are IT parks. The police are doing a good job to ensure the smooth functioning of the traffic system, but the police are facing a shortage of manpower.

          5. IT company, school and college schedules should be different –

The working hours of almost all IT companies and corporate companies start from 9 to 10 am. Also, all schools and colleges start from 9 to 10 am. Those who are employed in companies get stuck in traffic even if they leave home early. In Bengaluru, there is more traffic between 7.30 am and 10 am; this is peak hour traffic. From 7 am to 11 am, all IT company cars, buses, and school buses come on the road at the same time, which further increases the traffic. Therefore, the timing of either the IT company or the school should be different.

That means the school schedule should start from 7.30 am and the IT company schedule should start from noon. The IT company should allow 50% of its employees to work from home. Only then will the traffic problem be solved.
